Nature touches all things, a fact we have ignored to our detriment so far. There is though a growing movement seeking to reconnect nature to us, what we eat, where we live, and how we connect to each other. This CNC a selection of designers, practitioners and passionate people are gathered to share how they are connecting Chiang-Mai back to nature. 

Join us this Saturday for talks, workshops and a short guided tour of the wilder side of Chiang Mai's old city. 

About City Nature Challenge (CNC)

Founded in 2016 by Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County and California Academy of Sciences, CNC has grown into a global movement inviting people to reconnect with nature in their everyday surroundings. The CNC is an annual four-day global bioblitz held at the end of April, where communities and cities collaborate to educate, learn, connect, and work towards a common goal. The CNC challenges communities to go out and find wildlife near them, grab snapshots, and then share them to INaturalist, a open-source database of all plants and animals. Last year, participants made over 2,000+ observations, with over 1/3 vetted for use in science!

The Forest Restoration and Research Unit (FORRU) of Chiang Mai University has organized CNC events in the city since 2023.

ในครั้งนี้ เรารวบรวมนักออกแบบและนักปฏิบัติมาร่วมแบ่งปันแนวทางในการเชื่อมโยงเชียงใหม่กลับสู่ธรรมชาติอีกครั้ง วันเสาร์นี้อยากชวนทุกคนมาร่วมเสวนา เวิร์กช็อป และทัวร์สำรวจธรรมชาติในอีกมุมของย่านเมืองเก่าเชียงใหม่

เกี่ยวกับ CNC

City Nature Challenge เป็นกิจกรรมสำรวจความหลากหลายทางชีวภาพระดับโลก จัดขึ้นปีละครั้งในช่วงปลายเดือนเมษายน ชวนทุกคนออกไปค้นหาสิ่งมีชีวิตรอบตัว บันทึกภาพ และแบ่งปันผ่าน iNaturalist ซึ่งเป็นฐานข้อมูลเปิดของพืชและสัตว์ทั่วโลก ปีที่ผ่านมา มีการบันทึกมากกว่า 2,000 รายการ และกว่าหนึ่งในสามถูกนำไปใช้ในงานวิจัยทางวิทยาศาสตร์
