Passed down through generations, Fon Jerng is a rare tradition that blends martial technique with the elegance of dance. The word jerng (เจิง) in Northern Thai means “tactics” or “finesse,” reflecting the refined combat skills once practiced by Lanna warriors who defended their homeland centuries ago.

Over time, these techniques evolved beyond the battlefield into Fon Jerng, a graceful martial dance performed at village gatherings and temple fairs. Accompanied by the rhythm of long drums, cymbals, and gongs, practitioners move with flow, precision, and strength.

More than a martial art, Fon Jerng is a living cultural expression of the Lanna people’s appreciation for beauty, rhythm, and discipline. Come experience this rare and beautiful tradition with us.

ฟ้อนเจิงเป็นภูมิปัญญาที่สืบทอดต่อกันมาหลายชั่วอายุคน เป็นประเพณีอันหายากที่ผสานเทคนิคการต่อสู้เข้ากับความงดงามของการร่ายรำ คำว่า “เจิง” ในภาษาเหนือหมายถึง “ชั้นเชิง” หรือ “กลยุทธ์” สะท้อนถึงทักษะการต่อสู้อันประณีตของนักรบล้านนาในอดีต ผู้ปกป้องบ้านเมืองของตนเมื่อหลายศตวรรษก่อน

เมื่อเวลาผ่านไป ทักษะการต่อสู้เหล่านี้ได้พัฒนาออกจากสนามรบ กลายเป็น ฟ้อนเจิง การแสดงเชิงศิลปะที่สง่างาม ซึ่งมักแสดงในงานชุมชนและงานวัด โดยมีจังหวะดนตรีจากกลองยาว ฉาบ และฆ้อง คอยขับเคลื่อนการเคลื่อนไหวของผู้แสดงให้เต็มไปด้วยความลื่นไหล ความแม่นยำ และพลัง

Ajarn Saran Suwannachot, also known as ‘Kru Nik’, is a Grandmaster of Jerng Lanna. His prolific career has involved a life-time of preserving and promoting the martial heritage of the Lanna Kingdom and he has been featured in numerous documentaries, publications, TV & film. As the founder of the BSJL Martial Arts Academy (Baan Sala Jerng Lanna) his goal is to proliferate the knowledge and practice of Jerng to a worldwide audience.

อาจารย์ศรัณย์ สุวรรณโชติ หรือที่รู้จักกันในชื่อ “ครูนิก” เป็นครูผู้เชี่ยวชาญระดับปรมาจารย์ด้านเจิงล้านนา ตลอดชีวิตของท่านได้ทุ่มเทให้กับการอนุรักษ์และเผยแพร่มรดกศิลปะการต่อสู้ของอาณาจักรล้านนา และได้รับการนำเสนอในสารคดี หนังสือ โทรทัศน์ และภาพยนตร์หลายครั้ง ในฐานะผู้ก่อตั้ง BSJL Martial Arts Academy (บ้านสล่าเจิงล้านนา) เป้าหมายของท่านคือการเผยแพร่ความรู้และการฝึกฝนศิลปะเจิงให้เป็นที่รู้จักในระดับสากล
