Fauwn Leb: or Fingernail Dance is the fundamental dance of the Lanna region with focused, meditative movement representing the elegance of Lanna divinity. The footsteps and other movements represent the Lanna philosophy of living a balanced life, where simplicity meets complexity, ease meets difficulty, and different rhythms and body postures balance all elements and promote a calmer and more concentrated mind.

Dancers wear long extension fingernails to depict gods and goddesses seen in ancient temple wall paintings. Lanna people developed this refined dance over many decades, imagining how the ethereal and otherworldly movement of these deities might appear.

ฟ้อนเล็บ เป็นนาฏศิลป์พื้นฐานของดินแดนล้านนา ที่มีการเคลื่อนไหวอย่างนิ่ง สงบ และมีสมาธิ สื่อถึงความงดงามอ่อนช้อยของทวยเทพในคติล้านนา ก้าวฟ้อนและท่วงท่าต่าง ๆ สะท้อนปรัชญาการใช้ชีวิตของชาวล้านนาที่เน้นความสมดุล และความเรียบง่ายแต่สง่างาม และจังหวะกับอิริยาบถที่หลากหลายช่วยปรับสมดุลทุกองค์ประกอบ ก่อให้เกิดจิตใจที่สงบและมีสมาธิมากขึ้น

ผู้ฟ้อนจะสวมเล็บโลหะยาวที่ปลายนิ้ว เพื่อจำลองภาพเหล่าเทพและนางฟ้าที่ปรากฏในจิตรกรรมฝาผนังโบราณ ชาวล้านนาได้พัฒนาฟ้อนอันประณีตนี้มายาวนานหลายทศวรรษ โดยจินตนาการถึงความเป็นทิพยะ ของการเคลื่อนไหวตามแบบทวยเทพ
